Hi,
I tried to secure my PHP with the open_basedir option in the php.ini.
My scripts work fine with a limited access to certain directories
(including the call "pear list"), but unfortunately I get an error when I
want to update pear (using "pear upgrade") which looks like this:

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to pear.php.net:80 in RPC.php

xml_rpc_client: Connection to RPC server pear.php.net failed

Looks like fsockopen needs access to a directory outside of the pear path.
What can I do?
