Suggestions for custom QuickForm elements

hi there I was wondering if anyone has come up with ideas of implementing custom textarea QuickForm elements, like Ajax Spell or HtmlArea ?? Would it be a possibility, if they havent been done before I could give it a shot ? Possibly as a flexy custom xml tag aswell :) http://www.dynarch.com/projects/calendar/ Let me know if these are good ideas.
