My host has pear working - I've tested "require_once
"DB.php". However, they do not have the pear package
manager installed.
Without having to go through installing PEAR in a
different place and modifying the php.ini INCLUDE
parameter, can I simply upload the needed *.php
packages as they are used on my local machine?
For exmaple, I need XML/RSS.php. Can I add a copy of
my local RSS.php to the existing XML directory on the
server and that work fine?
I know it would be MUCH better and easier to maintain
if the package manager were installed but I don't know
if I want to go through that if I don't have to.
If it's not that big of deal to install and secure
that new folder, tell me that and how to secure it so
it's only readable from the localhost.
Many thanks for your insight.
