In http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=1763 it is said that ?> is evil and therefore not included in the class files generated by DO's Generator.php. Why is it not needed and evil? Its not really evil. But it poses the danger of accidentially putting whitespace after the closing tag should would lead to sending headers prematurely. As php implicitly sees the end of file as a closing tag its not needed and circumvents this "danger". regards, Lukas
