Now when I replace install-pear.php with the CVS copy from pear-core/
I get warnings all over the place about packages being required and
conflicting files. I don't think the problem is still that the files
are being installed to the compiled PEAR directory (/usr/lib/php)
instead of the installation directory specified by INSTALL_ROOT
(/tmp/php-buildroot/usr/lib/php).
I tried removing all my PEAR modules (that had already been installed
on the actual system, not the temporary build root) to see if that
helped. It actually caused another error in that the installer could
not now find its own PEAR files to install the other modules
(OS/Guess.php, etc.). I fixed this by changing the line at the
beginning of install-pear.php from ini_set('include_path', ''); to
ini_set('include_path', $pear_dir);. This allowed PEAR to find the
files and continue, but then I got the same file conflict and missing
dependency errors. A snippet is as follows:
[---Start Snippet---]
Installing PEAR environment: /tmp/php-buildroot/usr/lib/php/
[PEAR] Archive_Tar: pear.php.net/Archive_Tar: conflicting files found:
//Archive/Tar.php (pear.php.net/Object id #22)
archive_tar/docs/Archive_Tar.txt (pear.php.net/Object id #16)
[PEAR] Console_Getopt: pear.php.net/Console_Getopt: conflicting files found:
Console/Getopt.php (pear.php.net/Object id #10)
warning: pear/PEAR requires package "pear/Archive_Tar" (version >= 1.3.1)
warning: pear/PEAR requires package "pear/Console_Getopt" (version >= 1.2)
warning: pear/PEAR requires package "pear/XML_RPC" (version >= 1.4.0)
pear/PEAR can optionally use package "pear/PEAR_Frontend_Web" (version >= 0.5.0)
pear/PEAR can optionally use package "pear/PEAR_Frontend_Gtk" (version >= 0.4.0)
[PEAR] PEAR: pear.php.net/PEAR: conflicting files found:
OS/Guess.php (pear.php.net/Object id #11)
PEAR/ChannelFile/Parser.php (pear.php.net/Object id #27)
PEAR/Command/Auth-init.php (pear.php.net/Object id #17)
PEAR/Command/Auth.php (pear.php.net/Object id #60)
[---End Snippet---]
I didn't copy all the files that it said conflicted into the snippet
since it went on for a good distance.
The conflicting files errors seem to be for every file in every PEAR
package that PHP is attempting to install. Not sure what I'm doing
wrong. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
