Hello
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
I'd like to make a form using QFC, a front end to database inserts,
updates and deletes. Each process would be a "miniform". After a
successful processing the form should return to the initial frontend page.
I've mocked up five submit buttons for the frontend page.
.............
Home
Edit
Delete
Add This
Add That
The frontend (home) page would show a buttoned index of selectable
items. Only one item from the list could be selected for form
processing.
By clicking "Edit" or "Delete" the selected item would be processed.
Validation as to whether a button was selected would be needed. The
form would continue in a "wizard" style and upon success return to the
home page.
The "Add This" and "Add That" buttons have nothing to do with the
index shown on the frontend page. Clicking these buttons jumps to the
start of distinctive "wizard" style forms and return to the home page
upon success.
The home button could be visible at all times which would need no
validation to jump to.
.............
Is all this possible with one controller? Or do each of the buttons
that lead to further processing need their own controller? I've seen
references to having multiple controllers but haven't found a sample.
With a good addrule on the home page is it possible to require a
selected item for the "Edit" and "Delete" buttons and not so for the
other buttons?
At the end of successful processing I assume I can "jump" back to the
frontend page.
If someone jumps to the home page in the middle of one of these forms
would it be a big headache to save what is in the container to fill
the form if they go back to it? Or should I clear the container?
Any bits of info would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Roland
