Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer::setVersion(8) hides the Worksheet

Hello, everybody!
I try to generate price list with some Latvian (windows-1257) and Russian text in one worksheet using setInputEncoding.
This method does not works without setVersion(8).
OK.
But when I call setVersion(8) before it, my Spreadsheet generates without errors and Excel opens it.
But!
After a second the worksheet disappears from the screen, leaving blank Excel on it.
What do I wrong and how to do it right?
