I looked into it not long ago and there were some major differences which havent convinced me to move. It also requires a mass update of the SOAP clients distributed to all our customers and then the webservice code change over. Anyway paranoid of running scripts mean any script we supply them NuSoap or PEAR SOAP alike, and there is no application, it is a procedural programmed SOAP client to send credentials and get information back from our webservice. You prob misread the part where two customers have issues using our SOAP client. One their server has no route out to the internet, the other simply wont put the SOAP client and NuSoap scripts on their server because they are paranoid, so im stuck with having to come up with a javascript alternative which may only work in newer browsers lol. Why else would I be asking about this :\And you can't "install" it as part of your application? Seriously, there's no reason that you should not be able to use the PEAR::SOAP or another script such as that. I would focus your efforts on getting a more proven solution than trying to have cross-platform SOAP JS code or using Java just for this.
And, as others have said, Firefox is cross-platform and a viable alternative to crazy Java or JS coding to make it work in both FF and IE.I didnt mean cross platform sorry, i meant it only works in mozilla browsers. Im now attempting a flash alternative now as the java code requires crazy policies and expensive applet signing.
