OK, now I see in the changelog for 2.0.0beta3 this: "removed affectedRows() method in favor of returning affectedRows() on query if relevant" beginning at revision 1.4.2. Looking further, I see that the exec() method of the MDB2_Driver_Common class is the one that returns the effected rows. So, is it the exec() method that I must use if I am performing a manipulation query from which I must obtain the affected rows?
Yes! Very impressive detective works there! For the most part MDB2 follows the PEAR::DB API (sometimes with slightly expanded parameters in order to add type handling). In some cases it follows the PECL::PDO API (prepared API, exec()). This is of course limited to the areas where these two packages provide the given feature. regards, Lukas
