Did you make sure to define the class before unserializing it? (i.e. require the file which defines the class)
Sometimes the answer is staring you right in the face and you feel so stupid for not seeing it sooner... This was exactly the problem. Thanks for your help! thnx, Chris - at least if it were a Monday I'd have an excuse. :p
