Hi bertrand, it's nice to hear from you. It has been almost three months since you've last dispensed your words of wisdom. Oh for the days when we would frolic in the knowledge of superior programming!
Alas, there is now a pestilence upon the land, and the unrest reaches as high as the venerated PEAR.
"We require advanced!" cried the people, for the bitterness of withered code inflamed their RSIs.
"In short, use my Text_Wiki technology." replied the Gugger, for he was sure of its advanced.
"Use the Text_Wiki technology." ... The words spread among the people and filled them with hope. For some were happy, and the Text_Wiki came and filled them with great joy. For others, the sweet taste of object oriented programming only ended in bitterness as they found XHTML parse errors.
"Advanced!" cried those people. Many were confused by the cries, as they were satiated with Text_Wiki. It was heresy to want more than that granted by the Gugger, and there were petty squabbles on public email lists.
"Silence the heretics!" boomed the Gugger. For he was comforted in his advanced, and as such, others must be inferior. "Seize their repository!" "Depreciate this code! Totally!" His bits echoed through the depths of the PEAR list.
"But we must have code correction, speed, and better support!" Cried the few remaining. "For the love of all that is holy, at least grant us a tree structure!"
But the Gugger had already made his decision, and intellectual was deemed irrelevant. So the oppressed cast off from the shores, with hope of more advanced.
And the few that required more left in search of a land that would hold each of their bits sacred. And a new nation arose on those shores. A nation where one could feel at ease in the comfort of valid XML in a timely manner. A nation free of petty markup squabbles. Where each code was respected and evaluated for its own strengths, instead of cast aside, to forever lie battered and broken on the steps of the cathedral.

(For those just tuning in, we are now in the process of rehashing months old squabbles. Don't let this rash exchange of emails deter you from doing a text search in the PEAR general, developer, and QA archives for BBCodeParser. Slightly more useful information can be found there, but don't get your hopes up too much.)

Bonsoir, Seth, I tried to cooperate with you. There's no "advanced" BBCode but what is currently admited in a few major fashions. What you invent is only by you. BBCode is old and stable. +1 for deprecating this HTML_BBCodeParser *totally* no version 2 , bugs and problems power 2. I don't care about the "intellectual" point of view about parsers.
