warning with cl list-upgrades stable

I've recently upgrade the PEAR package from version 1.4.6 (stable) to
newer stable version 1.4.9
using the command
pear upgrade --alldeps PEAR-stable
now when i enter the command
./pear list-upgrades stable
I get this warning msg
stable is not a valid state (stable/beta/alpha/devel/etc.) try "pear
help list-upgrades"
How can i resolve?
Is it a problem if i've preffered_state set to stable?
./pear config-get preferred_state
stable
