Hi all: I want to get a filter for a list consisting in a form with a hierselect of 4 selects chained. I´m going to use Quickform, but the only thing is that the values to pass to the Quickform, I´m getting them from a MySQL table, but because I have 4 tables for the hierselect that means a lot of queries to the DataObject elements. If I have many users connected, is it going to be very heavy to get all these values from the database?. Can anyone tell me an optional way? Thank you very much. Regards, Jose Manuel ZeaHi Does the DB get updated a lot during the display of these options, if not then use a cache system to take the load of the DB. However a well formed query will take far less time than the time to generate these menu options, the HTML and javascript alone will add bytes! I would dummy up the menu system using straight forward arrays, and benchmark the times, then substitute these arrays one at a time and see the time difference, at least you can make an assumption then, and see what or if any queries take a long time and slow the display of the menues. Other than that do two options on one page and then push them onto another, to lessen the load. Ian
