More on the Pear on OS/2 issue.
As I told you some time ago there seems to be some kind of issue with
the tmpdir() and mktemp() function of the PEAR module. I used go-pear
and it only installed three packages, so I had to manually install
XML_RPC... that's the result:
[D:\usr\local\share\pear]pear install XML_RPC
+ tmp dir created at /tmp/tmpa00159
downloading XML_RPC-1.0.4.tgz ...
...done: 11,991 bytes
+ tmp dir created at ./tmpa00159
Unable to open in read mode (2) '/tmp/tmpa00159\tmpa00159\XML_RPC-1.0.4.tgz'
1
[D:\usr\local\share\pear]
As you see the second temp dir crawls up one level (and that's wrong),
while the Tar.Php module seens not able to locate the file (in fact the
file is in /tmp/tmpa00159/XML_RPC-1.0.4.tgz).
I've tracked down the "crawling" bug to be in System.PHP among the mktemp() function in the following code section:
/* if (isset($tmp_is_dir)) {
unlink($tmp); // be careful possible race condition here
if (!call_user_func('mkdir', $tmp, 0700)) {
return System::raiseError("Unable to create temporary directory $tmpdir");
}
} */
I've "REMmed" out the code and everything seems to work ok now.
I'll try to install XML_RPC now.
