Instead, choose File->Save As or File->Save Page As and save the link "http://pear.php.net/go-pear.phar" as "go-pear.phar" then you will be able to execute it. Wordpad will automatically change encoding and do other processing, causing the file to become corrupted. To ensure that you have the correct encoding, run C:\Documents and Settings\Greg Beaver>php -r "echo md5_file('go-pear.phar');" 4ca07861c3f876ea394e9716f463e313 You should see the value above, otherwise your download is corrupted. Greg Seems like this check would be a good thing to have on the website somewhere.
