easiest way to use MDB2 resultset to populate Quickform select element?

I have searched and have yet to find an easy way to
use an MDB2 result set to populate a Quickform select
element.
Without going through the obvious looping to get an
array, is there a more elegant/easy way? (without
using PEAR DB, only using MDB2)
