Sorry, I should have added that the PEAR installer breaks when retrieving 'text/plain' MIME files e.g. deps.1.0.0.txt etc. in REST/10.php :: _returnDownloadURL.

Hi, I am currently trying to setup a PEAR repository on GoogleCode Hosting. I have come a long way but I had to patch PEAR/REST.php for setting the 'Accept-Encoding: ' header property because, by default: " If no Accept-Encoding field is present in a request, the server MAY assume that the client will accept any content coding." ( http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec14.html#sec14 ) Can this be fixed in the PEAR installer? Many thanks, Jean-Lou Dupont.
