Joseph -- pretty straightforward instructions for installing pear and pear
modules on a shared host in the manual:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/installation.shared.php
or simply place a copy of go-pear.php into a directory on your website and
navigate to it in a browser. go-pear handles the rest.
as for connecting with MDB2 (from the manual:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/package.database.mdb2.intro-connect.php):
