PHP 5.2.0 and PEAR Problem

Dear All,
I 'm writing you coming from http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=9925
I got the error it describes in installing pear, so I downloaded
http://pear.php.net/go-pear.phar and replaced the
go-pear.phar that came with PHP 5.2.0.
But now when I run go-pear.bat I get:
ERROR: manifest length read was "3556098" should be "543582496"Press key
to continue...
What is this "manifest"? Where is this length read from?
Would you please have any further suggestions?
