Hello again!
Just came across another behaviour of installer that while is not a bug, it looks not very user-friendly
I set up some dependencies in package.xml and set one of the package version too high
I set the dependency on Validate min 0.8.0 but I have a 0.7.0 installed
So the installation of my package halted when it got to this dependency with a message similar to this:
minimal version required 0.8.0
installed version 0.7.0
package cannot be installed
That's it.
I think when installing perl modules from CPAN, it handles such things a little better - asking user if he wants to upgrade or to install the missing or outdated dependency.
Can this feature be added to pear installer?
I mean if the required min version is 0.8.0 and installed is 0.7.0, can the installer ask
Do you want to upgrade to required version: yes/no
entering 'yes' will download required version and installation will continue.
