I'm trying to install PEAR on a GoDaddy hosted account, following the
instructions at
http://abbyandwin.net/blog/2008/06/16/installing-pear-on-godaddy-shared-acco
unts/. So far, I've had no luck.
I consistently get this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '(',
expecting '}' in (my path info)/temp/PEAR/Installer.php on line 811
In addition, I get two warnings like: Warning: rmdir((my path
info)/pear/temp/PEAR) [function.rmdir]: Directory not empty in (my path
info)/pear/go-pear.php on line 1245
At this point, the installation stops altogether, with a progress bar at
50%. Directories include PEAR, temp, and bin, plus pear.conf. I have four
visible folders in PEAR: tests, docs, data, and cache.
Is there a way I can manually install PEAR, or get this script to work?
Thanks.
