Excellent question! Days, months, years? Who knows.
I've been using it as my command line installer for over a year. Using
the internal APIs may be a bit more risky, but since everything is
versioned I don't see any major problems. You're using version control
and can revert to a previous version, right? And you have complete
test coverage so you can tell if something breaks after upgrading
right? It's nice to live in my imaginary dream world. :-)
Honestly, we need more people to use Pyrus and make sure it's ready to
become stable. Using it in the alpha state is not an issue I concern
myself with — upgrading is where I get a bit nervous, but because I'm
following the development, and Pyrus currently has about 80% test
coverage, I'm not worried too much.
Github has everything you need to work with pyrus — https://github.com/pyrus
For information on getting a development environment up and running
you can read this helpful doc and be up and running in minutes.

Hope that helps!
