PEAR_Error?

Hello. I have just started to use PEAR but ran into a problem with Auth. When using it I got a blank (empty) pages. In my book I can read about PEAR_error. But it is only mention as a help and it is no information of how to install and use it. I have error report enable in php.ini and regular PHP display ordinary error message, put nothing is showing up when using a PEAR module. Can somebody tell me how to insall and use PEAR_Error?
