Installed, now how to use?

OK, I have PEAR installed and working, but I can't find
examples/documentation for any of the packages. Plus phpDoc does not work
(on my server anyway ).
For instance I would like to use Auth_http to protect certain pages. Let's
say I want to protect a page(s) with the username 'pageowner' and password
'ownerpassword'.
What code would need to be on each protected page?
