Hi, I have installed PHP 4.3.0 at my company's nt server, but when I try to use require_once 'DB.php' it didn't work. I thought PHP4.3.0 comes with PEAR? Please advise. Thanks.
If you're using the CGI version of PHP 4.3.0 (php.exe instead of one of the modules in the SAPI folder) then you should upgrade to 4.3.1 because of a recently-discovered security flaw. PEAR doesn't come with either 4.3.0 (or 4.3.1 as previously promised). The PEAR website now says that PEAR will be included in 4.3.2 for windows. Until then you can follow the go-pear install procedure as long as your PHP installation and Windows installation are on the same drive. If they aren't, it's a little tricker due to a couple of bugs; alternatively you can get http://lazycat.org/software/pear-plus.zip which has a working PEAR installation. You need to update pear.bat to point to the right folders, and also add the c:\php\pear (or wherever) folder to your PHP.ini file's "include_path" line so that "require_once('DB.php')" works. PHP.ini should be in your windows folder; if it isn't, you can make a copy of php.ini-dist, rename it and copy it to the right place (not forgetting to modify it appropriately, of course). Good luck, Matt
