Hi, I just installed the Translation module, and read the comments in the source code. Is there any tutorial showing how the classes are actually used? Or some example code? There was - but right now it's not very much actual no longer :) I am working on the new examples and will add them to documentation as soon as they will be ready.
1. Has anyone used it with Japanese? If so are there any potential problems with using Shift-JIS? (I didn't notice anything in the source and the addTranslation() function looks like it will cope okay if $String contains a backslash character). I do not think there whould be any problem - but to tell the truth - I never tried it :) I would be really very happy to know, if it works correctly - I don't know any language that uses so different character set, so I could not test it up.
2. Is anyone working on a web-based interface that translators can use to input language strings? Such interface will be available with version 1.3 - I am working on this and some additional features (e.g. using XML and gettext() files as the source). If you need such interface sooner - let me know - I can send you something I use for translations between Polish-English-German languages.
3. pear info translation gives me this error: User Error: Frontend::displayLine deprecated in CLI.php on line 72 (pear info DB works, so I think this is a Translation-specific problem). Thanks for this bug report - I will definatelly have a look at it...
4. It should say Pear::DB is a dependency. I just thought that as long as DB is standard PEAR class - I don't have to add the dependancy. But you're not the first that points that - I will change it with the next release.
5. Wouldn't it be better under the i18n category instead of under HTML? I will have a look at it... Maybe you're right :)
