Thanks for the reply Arnaud,
I am using PHP 4.3.1.
Here are the locations from the install script
1. Installation prefix : d:\oracle\ora90\apache\php
2. Binaries directory : $prefix
3. PHP code directory :
d:\oracle\ora90\apache\apache\htdocs\includes\pear
4. Documentation base directory : $php_dir\docs
5. Data base directory : $php_dir\data
6. Tests base directory : $php_dir\tests
To be honest, I find these options poorly named. From the 6 options as
seen, I am not sure what to put where. There should be some notes in
the script to help someone like me understand (eg. 1. Installation
prefix [this is the location of your php.exe file], 2. Binaries
directory [location of php.exe] etc...). <--- Bear in mind the
parenthesised material is an example only, don't chastise me saying
"there's no php.exe in unix". The point is I think it could be more
clear.
Anyhow, towards the end of the script output, the following line was
displayed:
The 'pear' command is now at your service at
d:\oracle\ora90\apache\php\pear
This is clearly not the case. There is no file or directory named pear
at d:\oracle\ora90\apache\php\pear.
I did find pear.bat at
D:\oracle\ora90\Apache\Apache\htdocs\includes\pear\scripts\pear.bat
but here is the contents (minus rems):
set PHP_PATH=c:\php
set PEAR_INSTALL_DIR=c:\php\pear
set PEAR_EXTENSION_DIR=c:\php\extensions
set PEAR_DOC_DIR=c:\php\pear\docs
REM -------------------
set DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR=\
%PHP_PATH%\php.exe -q %PEAR_INSTALL_DIR%\scripts\pear.in %1 %2 %3 %4 %5
%6 %7 %8 %9
I have changed the above pear.bat to match my system and it seems to
work. However, it still seems the go-pear.org script did not work
correctly, even if it did create this file. Perhaps whomever maintains
that script could confirm whether there is a problem.

Hello,
There should be a pear.bat and not a pear.exe
Where did you install it ? Also, what version of php do you use ?
Arnaud.
