Quickform error handling

Hi,
been working with the HTML_Quickform. Tackled almost everything but are there any nice functions available for retrieving the error messages after validation whithout having to access the member _errors directly or looping trough all elements and calling getElementError?
In the examples I don't see any error handling/display code...
