There is however only 166 packages at the latest count. It would be a very
easy task for a server to take the list of packages and produce a single
downloadable .zip/.tgz file containing everthing. In fact, you should be
able to write the code to perform this task in PEAR itself (and if not, why
not?!).
I agree that it is convenient to download only the packages you need using
the installer, however when you have no access to cvs and the current
installer is apparently broken, producing a single downloadable appears to
make a lot of sense.
