Well there are several people playing with code generation out of UML
design tools. There have been several articles about this in recent php
mag issues.
If you are not looking for down right code generation you may be
interested in recent developments around MDB. Alan Knowles has been
putting a lot of work in a schema designer that makes it possible to
visually design a DB and then export this to a given RDBMS and/or MDB
schema file.
With a possible port of DB_DataObjects and future plans to improve the
schema management component of MDB you might also find this an
interesting alternative.
