XML_sql2xml doesn't return anything

Greetings. I've set up the example as in the tutorial from
http://php.chregu.tv/sql2xml/
only with PostgreSQL as in
<?php
include_once("DB.php");
include_once("XML/sql2xml.php");
$sql2xml = new xml_sql2xml("pgsql://localhost/xmltest");
$sql2xml->Add("select * from bands");
$xmlstring = $sql2xml->getXML();
?>
and all I get is:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<root><result></result></root>
which looks like XML alright, but does not contain the data from the SQL
query. I know that the data are there because if I do

include_once("DB.php");
$db = DB::connect("pgsql://localhost/xmltest");
$result = $db->query("select * from bands");
while ($row = $result->fetchRow()) {
echo $row[1] . '<br>';
}
?>
instead of the above, I do get the proper query results. Any ideas?
