Thanks for the info David,
I had that set already, and both versions 8 & 7 work fine for me.
The problem turned out to be the way the software was using database handles
and assuming they were NOT persistent (when it was specified that they were
in the DB.pbp wrapper class I wrote.)
For shame. :)

In freetds.conf, set the desired value for the text size attrtibute:
ex.
text size = 8096
FYI, FreeTDS 8.0 was buggy for MSSQL 2K (last time I tested 6 mo ago), but I
haven't had too much trouble with 7.0.

I am not actually. I have a large web app which was using a partially
written db abstraction layer, which I have replaced with DB.php. It has
always been running on a FreeBSD 4.7 server, and using FreeTDS to connect to
a SQL Server 2K database on a Win2K machine (same subnet, TDS version 8.0).
After implementing the new DB.php abstraction layer, it seems like anything
returning a quantity of text data (from a text type field) greater then 1k
is sometimes truncated, and sometimes not.. !?
Nothing in the environment has changed (hardware, drivers, layers, etc...)
other then this new abstraction layer using DB.php
Has anyone experienced this problem, or know why it would be happening?
Shawn

Yes, if you are using limitQuery() method...
