Hi all
I am new to PEAR and I have a basic question.
My ISP does not support PEAR at the moment. So I decided to install it
myself within the document-root and then using
ini_set("include_path", ".:/path_to_my_document_root/PEAR");
I was glad to find the go-pear script that seemed to do this task for
me. Unfortunately the script did not work well because of wrong write
permissions within my document-root. (Some files and directories were
created, and I cannot delete them anymore... But that will be another
task to do somewhen...)
What I am asking myself now is if I just can do that "installation" by
hand. My plan would be as follows:
1. Create a directory pear within my document-root
2. Create subdirectories
3. Use ini_set("include_path", ...) to point to my pear directory
4. Download the *.tgz archives and decompress it into the approriated
subdirectories
5. Hopefuly work with PEAR classes as mentioned in documentation
I think this plan should work. What I am not sure about is point 2. in
the above list. What are the names of the direcories that I should
use?
I would be glad to get comments, experiences and tips on my
sugestions.
Thanks in advance
