I'm working through the manual and have gotten to this page: http://www.php.net/manual/en/zend.build.php In step 2, I chose to uncomment the PHP_ARG_WITH: PHP_ARG_WITH(my_module, for my_module support, dnl Make sure that the comment is aligned: [ --with-my_module Include my_module support]) (That second line should remain a comment, right?) When I do step 6 (the example has ./php but there is no 'php' executable in /usr/php-4.3.1, so I'm using the one in /usr/local/bin): [root@crisium php-4.3.1]# php -f ext/my_module/my_module.php Warning: dl() [http://www.php.net/function.dl]: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/php-4.3.1/modules/my_module.so' - /usr/php-4.3.1/modules/my_module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in /usr/php-4.3.1/ext/my_module/my_module.php on line 3 Functions available in the test extension:<br> Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /usr/php-4.3.1/ext/my_module/my_module.php on line 8 <br> Module my_module is not compiled into PHP [root@crisium php-4.3.1]# When should the my_module.so file appear in /usr/php-4.3.1/modules? Can anyone see what I've done wrong? Thanks in advance for your help! Be gentle, I'm a Java programmer. :) -- Wendy Smoak Chandler, AZ
