Here's the attachment....DOH! -----Original Message----- From: Simon Hamilton [mailto:simon.hamilton@ntlworld.com] Sent: 08 December 2001 11:43 To: pear-general@lists.php.net Subject: Re: [PEAR] Pear Auth Class (Newbie) Hi Martin I had a look at the attachment, it looks like (altho I haven't tested it) it might do the trick, thanks! One issue I have is that your getting the file info from $HTTP_SERVER_VARS['PHP_SELF'] as a column header. I would most likely prefer to hard code a variable/pageID into each content page, where $pageID = "ColumnName" in Permissions table. This way I can safely use a database driven website. Would there be any problems with this method you could foresee? Currently I'm having trouble just getting Auth to work, before I even try to get your hack in there. For some reason (I'm running Win2k/Apache/PHP/MySQL BTW), the database call will only work when I set the DSN to user=root with no password. I have setup other users WITH passwords in the USERS table of the MySQL DB, but they just don't work. Do you know if there's anything else I need to do to MySQL to get other users to work? Now, even tho I can make the call with the DB "root" user, I'm not getting access...keep getting "Wrong login data!" above the login fields in the form, and I know its right. Have you any ideas why this problem would occur (I know its a bit vague). The only thing I can think of is maybe the use of crypt/MD5. I'm not sure if I have it all implemented properly, therefore I have attached my phpinfo() for you to check out if its any use. I really like this Pear stuff, and I'm sure I'll get my head around it soon! BTW, I replied to your email privately first, but have had no reply as yet....maybe its not the done thing!
