XML_RSS and accented letters

It seems that XML_RSS (or maybe XML_Tree, which is required by XML_RSS)
strips accented letters out of the title element.
I've found this while parsing this RSS feed:
http://punto-informatico.it/fader/pixml.txt
It is written in rss verions 0.91.
Note: accented letters are already HTML-encoded in titles (e.g. Massì
instead of Massì)
Could you please advise a work-around for this?
