Hi all,
I am new to the PEAR community but after 6 months of working within a
Linux, MYSQL , PEAR environment (after 23 years of C, Oracle,GIS,projMgt
etc) I have managed to build my first data entry, web based application
using PHP, DB_DataObject etc and am interested in knowing if anyone has
lookec at using the DB_Dat.. object abstraction layer as the basis for a
generic reporting and data_management framework.
If so, I would be very interested in understanding how I might
contribute.
If not, is there anyone that might like to think about general
requirements for such a beast. My thoughts were along the line of trying
to build an MDA compliant object management framework (initially in UML,
XMI, thence to PEAR/PHP via XSLT ) that can be used to provide a
business integration layer that is accessible my smaller to medium sized
organisations.
I have two major restrictions, firstly I am also just starting up a new
company (Total employee count = 1 ) and secondly I will be learning a
range of issues as we proceed. I do however think it could make a
valuable contribution to the open-source world and throw the idea out
there for comment.
Thanks for all the support.
