Hi,
I've just installed PEAR (with the Web installer) to the following directories:
1. Installation prefix /usr/local/pear
2. Binaries directory $prefix/bin
3. PHP code directory ($php_dir) $prefix/lib/pear
4. Documentation base directory $php_dir/docs
5. Data base directory $php_dir/data
6. Tests base directory $php_dir/tests
7. PEAR Installer cache directory $php_dir/cache
8. Cache TimeToLive 300
9. Filename of WebFrontend $prefix/index.php
10. php.exe path, optional (CLI command tools) $prefix
after the installation the installer said something about not being able to display a link to the
web-frontend (that isn't a surprise since none of the installation directories is not anywhere
near my apache www-root). When I went to check out what the installer had done I found several .php
files under /usr/local/pear/lib/*.
The main questions here are: 1)did I screw up the installation? 2)Where should the $php_dir point to
(www-root???)? 3)Can I just reinstall it and delete the old installation (I'm new with UNIX
too..)?
Thanks
