Re: Newbie install question

Hi, I got that same error message when I was trying to install PEAR with the go-pear.php. I think it was because I forgot to put the "http://" in front of the proxy-server address. Anyway you might want to edit the install-file to display the actual variables used in fsockopen for the server and proxy ( I discovered that mine were left empty when I didn't have the "http://" in front of the proxyname..).
