Another question from this newbie wanting to learn PEAR (coz its FUN!!!!)
On the pear website it says:
If you have a recent installation of PHP 4, you can relax: The PEAR base installation is already
installed on your system, unless you have compiled your PHP with the ./configure flag
'--without-pear'
As I run PHP under windows-XP, PEAR didn't come with my PHP installation and I used the web
install tool go-pear. It installed some of the packages, but far from all of them
For instance I wanted to use HTML/Table.php and HTML/QuickForm.php which had to be installed
manually.
Can anyone tell me if this is the same for the UNIX environment (Linux, Apache) because right now I
have to guess which packages are installed at my webhost. They don't seem to be able to tell
me.... If this information is available on the PEAR website I apologize for asking, but I
couldn't find it quickly. So again: what comes standard with PHP 4 in a Linux, Apache
environment?
thanks in advance people
Jeroen
