HTML_Form versus QuickForm

The QuickForm (quickform.php) is (unfortunately) not supported by my
webhost. Form.php is, but I can't find a nice example of defining and
processing a form with form.php on the internet. Also no example is shipped
in the distribution of the package (QuickForm has got 7 examples!)
Question
is form.php already superseded by quickform?
if not does anyone have a nice example?
