Packages and adding

Is there a good resource for explaining how to add pacakges to pear?
If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
I read the stuff on the flat structure, but some of the directory names of
the stuff I have do not work and I have to change them to what is expected
in the other dependent packages.
Eg: change HTTP_Request to HTTP.
Am I doing this right?
