Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer - readonly?

Is there a way to make the generated Excel file "readonly" so it can be displayed (and "touched") in the web browser without Excel asking "Do you want to save the changes..." when closing the document.
I have tried to set Worksheet->protect, but that doesn't help. I think that something corresponding to the Excel command Protect workbook (without password) can do the magic.
