error with Auth

Hi,
I just discovered PEAR installed by default in my server and am already
playing with it.
First surprise was when trying the Auth package. Just doing the example that
comes with the manual in the introduction (example 15-1. Typical usage for
PEAR::Auth) got the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: isconnection() in
/usr/local/lib/php/Auth/Container/DB.php on line 130
Any clues of what's wrong?
