Hi Laurent, I finally took a second to look at HTML_Progress, and it's great :). I have a few notes. example2.php emits this notice: Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file. However, future versions may not support this any longer. in c:\web pages\chiara\test_case\progress2.php on line 19 I understand why you use pass-by-reference since assignbyref variables can't have a default value in PHP 4, but it's a bad idea to do this in the constructor. You need to remove this part from the constructor, and add a new method, perhaps setSelf(&$self) which can be optionally called immediately after construction with the object that should be used.
