Request: Send a blank email to pear-general+get-7164@lists.php.net to get a copy of this message
I have encountered a problem when using Mail_Mime to send emails w/ attachments. I am not an expert in MIME but this is what I have come up with and please tell if I am way off. In some email clients the email renders fine and the attachment is present. However, in Mozilla (which happens to be my email client of choice) I receive a blank message and no attachment. Looking at the headers I found this discrepency:
How Mail_Mime does Content-Type<<<<<<<<
Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="=_eab75a5d3a0b287704b5b5c9bdc7ed9d" --=_eab75a5d3a0b287704b5b5c9bdc7ed9d Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"
How another email client does Content-Type for the same email<<<<<<
Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------040107090206020109050904" This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------040107090206020109050904 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed When I have a look at the email headers of an email sent using Mail_Mime in Mozilla the Content-Type is cut off after 'Content-Type: multipart/mixed;' and no other header information follows it. I am guessing this to be the cause of the empty messages in Mozilla. Any suggestions or comments on how to fix this or if it represents a bug please let me know. It might be noted that the email is not really 'empty' since I can tell by its size that it contains the attachments and body text but is just not being displayed. Regards, Jacob
