PEAR Installer and Zend Studio Server

I've just installed a Zend Studio Server 3.0.0 on a Red Hat 7.3 server
(Apache 1.3.23, PHP 4.1.2, PEAR).
Since this installation, the pear command desesperatly returns "Segmentation
fault". There is no way to upgrade package, nor to install new ones. Trying
to reinstall PEAR failed with the same message.
Does anyone know about a software incompatibility between Zend and Pear ?
