Hi pear-general, DataObject includes identity columns when dealing with update or insert queries - this causes an error hence mssql (as of version 2k, developer) doesn't allow any change to these. When I choose to omit these via 'ignore_sequence_keys = ALL', FormBuilder has no way of knowing which primary key to specify when doing it's queries resulting in an ability to insert but not to update. Something flawed in my perception?Hmm... I fear I don't get your point here... why would anything want to change a primary key at runtime? I use FormBuilder with MSSQL all the time, and everything's fine. If you want to disable sequences, you should wait for the next CVS version of DataObject which will allow to use auto values with MSSQL, just like the auto_increment fields with MySQL. To Alan: Did you get my last mail on the patch you applied to DataObject to achieve this? There was one line missing which did not yet make it into CVS, so using auto_increment with MSSQL still is not functional. CU Markus
