I have coded a menu that does exactly what you want. It uses
DB_NestedSet and Template_IT and supports basic administration task for
the menu. You can have more than one colums (rows) of menus.
I can send it to you tomorrow since that work is on my computer at home.
Code is not fully documented at the moment, but I think you will easyly
understand.
