liveuser examples not working?

Hi,
I've tried to run some liveuser examples (1 and 2) and they don't work throwing the following error:
Warning: main(LiveUser/LoginManager.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/share/php/pear/docs/LiveUser/examples/example2/example.php on line 32
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'LiveUser/LoginManager.php' (include_path='/pub/www/pear') in /usr/local/share/php/pear/docs/LiveUser/examples/example2/example.php on line 32
I looked at the source and it seems the script wants to change the includepath. Don't know why because with a running PEAR environment require_once 'LiveUser/LoginManager.php'; should work just fine.
Any ideas?
